South West

The Southwest of France is an important wine region consisted of several islands of vineyards and vines between Rodez and Aurillac on the northeast all the way to the Spanish border in the South of Hendaye. The region covers more or less the Aquitaine (excluding the Gironde) and Midi-Pyrenees.

This region produces wines with Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC-PDO), with Appellation d’Origine Vins Délimités de Qualité Supérieure (AOVDQS-PDO), Vins de Pays (PGI) or Vins de Table (Table wines). Added to all these appellations there is also the Armagnac (water spirits) and the Floc de Gascogne (a mistelle).
