Domaine d’Ardhuy is located in the heart of Burgundy, in the Côte de Nuits bordering the Côte de Beaune. It is nestled in the Clos des Langres, which has been synonymous with exceptional wine since the monks of the Abbaye de Cîteau planted the first vineyards in the 10th century. Four generations of the d’Ardhuy family have owned this 45 hectare estate, the vineyards of which stretch from Puligny-Montrachet to Gevrey-Chambertin and produce 40 different wines (mainly grands crus and premier crus– including Corton, Clos de Vougeot, and Corton Charlemagne).

“In order to be able to produce excellent wines, you need grapes that are in perfect conditions: this is the motto of Gabriel d’Ardhuy (the actual owner). As a consequence, all our vines have been treated with the utmost respect of the terrain and cultivated in a traditional manner. We try our best so that our varieties take full advantage and reach deep down into the earth to obtain the characteristic of the micro-climates.”

“The harvest is the final outcome from the work of vineyard care. Thanks to perfect knowledge of our land and frequent maturity checks, we harvest each field at its optimum maturity. All fermentation takes place traditionally in oak barrels with regular stirring of the lees at the end of the fermentation process.”

                                          biodynamic-certified

Today, the winemaking is taken care of by Carel Voorhuis, who succeeded Jean-Pierre Terrand at the age of 29. His goal is to maintain the essence of the the many different terroirs in each wine.
