Producers in Pauillac, France

Description of Pauillac:

The commune of Pauillac, famous for its three premiers crus of Latour, Lafite and Mouton, is Bordeaux at its most regal. The appellation boasts three-quarters of the Medoc’s premiers crus and is the definitive source of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pauillac’s heavy gravel soil, which covers ferrous sandstone, is the perfect host for the Cabernet varietal. Nowhere in the world does Cabernet Sauvignon excel as in Pauillac, where it is at its most majestic, imparting much-vaunted blackcurrant character, balanced by excellent tannic structure. The appellation’s wines are elegant and full-bodied, with notes of cedar and flinty, pencil-lead on the palate.
